Member Registration

Thank you for your interest in Blooming Glen Farm CSA for the 2010 growing season. Please read the following information carefully.

Our harvest season begins at the end of May and runs until early-November, approximately 24 weeks long. A full share costs about $30 a week. That amount brings you a lot of fresh produce of incomparable quality, but it also brings you a lot more: a meaningful connection to your food, the land where it grows, and the community of people who help grow it.

Payment Options

You will have the option of making a full payment ($780 full share, $410 split share), or making a down payment ($250 full share, $125 split share). If you choose a payment plan, we suggest a down payment now and a second payment of $250 full share, $125 split share by March 1. Then the full balance is due on May 1.

Important: You must have a partner in order to register as a split share, and both partners must complete an online registration form and each must send in a down payment.

2010 Work Commitment

Each farm share agrees to perform a minimum of 4 hours of work for the farm in a season. (For Split shares that is 2 hours each.) Not only will you have fun getting to know your farmers and fellow CSA members, but you will also learn more about what goes into growing your food. Jobs range from harvesting, mulching and weeding to helping plan events and contributing to the newsletter. We will have an online calendar listing the dates of work opportunities, and will also send out emails as they arise. If you know now you will not be able to do the work commitment, you may pay an extra $30, or make alternate arrangements with the farmers.

Share Pick-Up

Shares are available for pick-up on Tuesday or Friday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We harvest only full shares. Therefore, those who split shares must determine the logistics of picking up and dividing shares. We strongly suggest alternating pick-up weeks.

2010 Member Agreement

  • In becoming a member of Blooming Glen Farm CSA, I recognize that due to the inherent risks of farming there are no guarantees on the exact amount or type of produce I will receive.
  • All farm members are responsible for learning how the Blooming Glen Farm CSA works. It is my responsibility to pick up my share at the designated time.
  • I understand that there will often be pick-your-own crops, which may lengthen the time it takes me to pick up my share. However, I am free to come back within a week to do my pick-your-own’s.
  • All parties who split a share should understand that they are entitled to just one share in common, to be collected on the indicated day by one share partner.
  • I also understand that if I cannot continue my share, I will not be refunded the share price.

I have read the above information, and I agree to the terms of the 2010 Member Agreement.
